Working Foreman / Commercial Diesel Technician (Truck Workshop) – Polokwane, Limpopo (Full-Time)
Job Overview
A busy and well-established Truck Service & Repair Centre in Polokwane is seeking an experienced and hands-on Working Foreman / Commercial Diesel Technician to join their team.
This role is ideal for a skilled professional who will be actively involved in diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of commercial vehicles while also supporting the Workshop Manager with daily operations and team coordination. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality workmanship, and strong team performance within a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on commercial trucks and diesel vehicles
• Identify faults using diagnostic equipment and resolve issues efficiently
• Oversee daily workshop activities and assist with staff supervision
• Support the Workshop Manager with planning, scheduling, and workflow control
• Ensure all work is completed to high quality and safety standards
• Assist in mentoring and guiding junior technicians
• Maintain a clean, organised, and productive workshop environment
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Working Foreman and Diesel Technician/Mechanic
• Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic qualification
• Proven experience working on commercial vehicles / trucks
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Solid leadership and decision-making ability
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Sober habits
